If you’re in need of a versatile DC brushed motor driver compatible with various signal sources such as RC (Radio Control), PWM from a microcontroller, analog voltage from a Potentiometer/Variable Resistor, or UART/Serial commands from a microcontroller, look no further – the SmartDriveDuo10 is tailor-made for you. Each channel supports a continuous current of up to 10Amps, making it an ideal choice for constructing combat or sumo robots. Don’t forget, the MDDS10 can be configured to drive two-channel motors independently or in a mix mode, offering flexibility for your projects. Be sure to consult the User’s Manual for comprehensive details.
The SmartDriveDuo10 boasts the specifications of MDD10A, capable of bidirectional control for two brushed motors at 10Amps each, and incorporates additional smart features from MDS40A. Configuration of the operation mode is conveniently handled by the DIP switch on the MDDS10, with commonly used modes printed on the back of the PCB.
Utilizing solid-state MOSFETs as H-bridge switching components, the MDDS10 ensures faster switching times at 16KHz, delivering a quieter operation. The MOSFETs eliminate the need for a flyback diode. Additionally, the onboard temperature sensor enables a gradual reduction of the output current to prevent overheating and potential damage.
To facilitate RC receiver compatibility, a 2×3 header pin is included, requiring just two RC extension cables for a quick and easy two-minute setup. By default, the MDDS10 comes configured in RC controller Mixed control mode, simplifying the integration process.
With support for up to 35VDC input, you can easily connect two SLA batteries in series to power your motor. The MDDS10 requires only one power input to operate both the motor and the driver. Operating voltages within the range of 3-cell and 6-cell Li-po batteries are well within the specified limits. Furthermore, the driver includes a battery low voltage warning feature, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
For motor compatibility, the MDDS10 is suitable for any DC Brush motor with two terminals, operating within the voltage range of 7V to 35V, and having a rated current not exceeding 10A and peak current not surpassing 30A.
