Are you looking to build an RC vehicle or mobile robot without the hassle of dealing with microcontrollers and coding? Look no further than MDDRC10. This plug-and-play solution can be directly connected to your RC receiver, eliminating the need for coding or programming.
The selectable mixed mode allows for the easy control of differential drive motors through a throttle (forward-reverse) and a steering channel.
The MDDRC10 is equipped with an onboard switching regulator that produces a 5V output to power the RC receiver, eliminating the need for an extra battery eliminator circuit (BEC). It is capable of driving two brushed DC motors in the range of 7V to 30V. With its discrete NMOS H-Bridge design, the motor driver can support 10 Amps per channel continuously without requiring additional heatsinks.
Conducting functional tests is a breeze with the onboard test buttons and motor output LEDs, providing a quick and convenient way to ensure everything is working as expected.
Safety is a top priority with the MDDRC10. Various protection features are incorporated, including overcurrent protection to prevent damage when the motor stalls or an oversized motor is connected. The motor current is limited at the maximum threshold to safeguard against excessive draw.
Temperature protection is another key feature, adjusting the current limiting threshold based on the board temperature. This ensures that the MDDRC10 can operate at its full potential without damaging the MOSFETs, adapting to the actual conditions.
However, it’s important to note that the power input lacks reverse-voltage protection. Connecting the battery in reverse polarity will result in instantaneous damage to the motor driver. Always exercise caution during the setup to avoid such issues.
Example Application: RC Lawn Mower, Combat Robot, Sumo Robot, RC Toy.
